ActiveX Shields
Figure 1: The 'Activex Shields' window ActiveX components are used to add functionality, such as animation or pop-up menus, to Web pages, desktop applications etc. However this functionality comes with a risk, especially if the party running the ActiveX control is untrusted. Enabling
the ActiveX shield will prevent all ActiveX controls that we detect as malicious from being installed on your computer. Meaning, it actually prevents adware and spyware from ever being installed in the first place. If you wish to install a particular item that we detect, you can simply disable protection, install the item, and then re-enable protection.
